What time are elephants fed at the Elephant Transit Home?

At the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home (ETH), the orphaned elephants get milk every three hours, and the public viewing windows are strictly scheduled for 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 6:00 PM every day.

If you want the best sightline from the viewing platform, it is recommended that you reach there 15 to 20 minutes earlier, before the feeding session starts.

For the morning feeds, 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM usually draw the most visitors because it matches the busiest tour arrival rhythm.

The later feeds at 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM tend to feel calmer, and the air temperature is often cooler too, so it can be a pleasant pause before evening park driving or after it as well.
