What are the safari rules in Udawalawe National Park?
People visiting Udawalawe National Park have to stay in their assigned safari vehicles at all times, and they should not offer food to any wildlife, and also keep the sound levels at an absolute minimum so the animals are not disturbed.
Park staff apply a tough ‘leave no trace’ policy, so every piece of rubbish must be brought back out with you. Flash pictures are not allowed, and smoking or drinking alcohol within the park limits is fully prohibited. Your authorised tracker or driver will tell you exactly when and where the vehicle can pause safely, so it protects your well-being and the surrounding habitat.
