Is Udawalawe a Ramsar wetland site?

Sri Lanka does have six official Ramsar locations at the moment, and those include coastal wetlands like Bundala and Anawilundawa, among others. Udawalawe was first set up to guard the water catchment area tied to a freshly built dam and to offer refuge for displaced wild animals. Nowadays, it functions as a strongly protected national park under the Department of Wildlife Conservation, and it is really quite separate from the Ramsar Convention network.
