How far is Udawalawe from Mirissa?
The gap between Mirissa and Udawalawe National Park comes in at about 100 kilometres (62 miles), so the drive usually takes around 2 to 2.5 hours, depending on traffic and stops.
Most people move along the A2 coastal highway east, towards Matara or Nonagama, then later veer inward. The roads are fully paved and well maintained, which keeps the journey smooth. Because they are so close, this route is especially favoured by visitors who want to blend Sri Lanka’s southern whale watching with an inland elephant safari in the same trip.
