Are boat rides available in Udawalawe?

No, you cannot take boat rides inside Udawalawe National Park, or even on the main Udawalawe Reservoir when you are within the park boundaries.

The Department of Wildlife Conservation limits water-based tourism activities, so there is less human interference with elephants and other animals that use the reservoir to drink. If you want a boat safari, it’s better to think about nearby options such as Chandrika Wewa or coastal areas outside the protected zones, rather than trying to do so inside the park.
