Can I visit Udawalawe and Yala on the same day?

Technically, it is possible, but going to both Udawalawe and Yala National Parks on the same day is very much discouraged because of the long drive and the exhausting experience of running two safaris back to back.

Yala and Udawalawe are roughly 1.5 to 2 hours apart by car. If you try a morning safari at one, then an afternoon safari at the other, there is really no proper break during the hottest stretch of the day. On top of that, rushing the transfer between parks makes the whole thing less enjoyable, and the sightings tend to feel less special. It is much better to set aside one complete day for each park, so your odds for seeing a wide range of wildlife are higher.
