Can I do a full-day safari in Udawalawe?
Yes, full-day safaris are available at Udawalawe National Park, usually starting at 6:00 AM and finishing around 6:00 PM.
With a full-day excursion, you can wander further inside the park, reaching calmer, less-visited corners close to the Walawe River and toward the northern limits. These longer rides come with a midday break, when your driver will stop at a designated rest point near the reservoir to have lunch. For many guests, a half-day safari is enough for observing elephants, but a full-day itinerary helps maximise the chances of encountering harder-to-see leopards and a richer mix of birdlife.
