Yes, the elusive fishing cat (Prionailurus viverrinus) lives in the wetland and riverine forest zones of Udawalawe National Park.

As a nocturnal, very secretive feline, it becomes incredibly hard to catch sight of during regular daytime safari hours. They mostly pursue fish, frogs, and crustaceans along the Walawe River banks and across the park’s smaller offshoot channels.
