Are elephant feeding sessions open to the public?

Yes, there’s public viewing of elephant calf feeding sessions available at the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home (ETH), located just outside the national park.

The ETH rehabilitates orphaned calves so they can be released back into the wild later. Visitors are allowed to watch from a viewing platform as the elephants are being bottle-fed at set times, usually around 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 6:00 PM; however, direct physical contact with the animals is strictly not allowed.
