Can you see frogs in Udawalawe?
Visitors to Udawalawe can often spot many interesting frog species. Tree frogs are a good example, and large bullfrogs show up too. The key factor is timing. Most of these frogs are active during the rainy season.
Many safaris concentrate on big animals, like elephants. Because of that, small amphibians may be missed by people who are not looking closely. Still, local guides with keen eyes often notice them right away. They may show you frogs sitting on wide leaves, or frogs hidden near the muddy edges of seasonal streams after an afternoon rain.
