Can weather affect park access?

Severe weather can cause problems inside the park. Heavy monsoon downpours, or short bursts of flash flooding in one area, may make it hard to reach some muddy, low paths.

The main entrance gates rarely close completely. Still, park staff may place barriers when trails become too wet to cross. This is to stop safari vehicles from getting stuck in thick mud. On rare days with major cyclones or very strong winds, wildlife staff can pause all entry. They do this to keep visitors safe immediately.
