Is there a train to Udawalawe?

Udawalawe does not have a railway station. The nearest main train stations that link into the wider national network are in Matara and Beliatta.

Most people who use Sri Lanka’s train lines choose the coastal route as they travel south. After they reach the last southern stations, they need to organise a taxi for the rest of the way or take a local bus. This remaining trip is usually about 1.5 to 2 hours by road to get near the park area.
